I have been snowmobiling since I was 2 years old. I first rode backcountry on my own at 8. I fell in love and have been riding the mountains ever since. 17 years experience in the backcountry, and 23 years riding total.

When I was a kid, my dad bought a long track MXZ from The West Yellowstone Search and Rescue. I used to sit on it in our shop in Windsor Colorado and pretend I was on the Search and Rescue, or even better, a snowmobile guide in West Yellowstone. I guess you could say “I’m living the dream”.

I have been riding a snowmobile for 22 years, basically as soon as I was old enough to sit on a sled.  After college I was bored with my career.  I knew I always wanted to live in the mountains and I thought being a guide would be fun.  I called around and landed a job.  Two weeks later I was here.  I had never been to this area before in my life.  Basically it was a leap of faith.  I love it here and plan to live here for many years to come. “If you don’t climb the mountain, you can’t see the views!”

Naturally, growing up in Utah, winters were mainly spent on the slopes, tearing up the local canyons of Cottonwood and Park City.  I didn’t really spent much time on a sled.  My main passion was in the dirt, as a motocross racer.  I have been racing MX since I was old enough to turn a throttle.  I attribute this to my easy transition into the snowmobiling industry.  Originally when I moved to West Yellowstone, (3 years ago) my goal was to start a snocross career.  After talking with Jeff Watt at Ace Powder Guides, he convinced me to learn to ride the backcountry.  I’ve been guiding The backcountry since.  My snocross ideas are still there, but my true passion lies in the endless powder that we have here in the West.  As a guide I’m able share my passion of backcountry riding with all our clients.
